Welcome

Welcome to our new AESS Education web site! This tutorial system is provided as a free service to all AESS members.

Our efforts in education center on two initiatives: the Distinguished Lecture and Tutorial Program and our Video Education Initiative. All AESS Chapters and IEEE Sections are encouraged to take advantage of the AESS Distinguished Lecturer and Tutorial Program for their regular or special meetings. We have selected an outstanding list of speakers who are experts in their fields.

The Education Committee solicits your help and active participation. We need more people to volunteer as lecturers. Let us know about a colleague who would be a great speaker. And, if you have any ideas, or would like to volunteer in any way, please contact VP Education, Joe Fabrizio at joe.fabrizio@dsto.defence.gov.au. You can also contact anyone on the Education Committee. Thank you very much.

NEW AESS EVTS VIDEO TUTORIAL!!

New AESS Educational Video Tutorial
Fundamental Concepts in Radar Signal Processing

Dr. Mark A. Richards is a Principal Research Engineer and Adjunct Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Georgia Institute of Technology.

This tutorial begins with a brief review of the impact of signal-to-interference ratio and resolution on fundamental system goals of detection, tracking, and imaging. It then reviews the important core radar signal processing methods described above to highlight their common reliance on these fundamentals.
It is assumed the student is familiar with basic concepts of signal processing such as linear filtering, Fourier transforms, and random variables, and with basic radar processing methods such as integration, Doppler filtering, and matched filtering.

As always, the AESS tutorials are provided free to our members.

Where do I start?

We have created a robust subscription system for our users. The system known as EVTS (Educational Video Tutorial System) was designed to be intuitive and easy to use. For login creditials, contact Judy Scharmann at j.scharmann@conferencecatalysts.com.
